Ball Stem Retainer Kits
These kits include a fine pitch threaded shaft with integral spherical end (ball stem), a retainer plate and two threaded screws. The spherical end of the ball stem allows for a swiveling interface when applying a load to the coupled air bearing. The retainer plate captures the ball stem without distorting the air bearing surface.

Ball Stem Retainer Flex Kits
These kits include a fine pitch threaded shaft with integral spherical end (ball stem), a flexure assembly (spring and load disc), a retainer plate and two threaded screws. Like the ball stem retainer kits, the spherical end of the ball stem allows for a swiveling interface when applying a load to the coupled air bearing. However, in addition to this, a flexure assembly allows for better adjustability of the preload to the air bearing. It also permits greater tolerance of parallelism when opposing bearings are configured to ride on two planes. The included retainer plate captures the entire ball stem / flexure assembly without distorting the air bearing surface.

Ball Stems
Parallelism of the air bearing face and its mating surface is optimal when using these stainless steel ball stems. The fine pitch threaded shaft assembled to the stage or system assembly allows for minute adjustments to the preload of the bearing. For convenience, adjustments can be made from either the hex socket at the end of stem or through the cross hole near air bearing.

Straight Fittings
These electroless nickel plated barbed straight fittings provide a simple, cost effective connection between the air bearing and the air supply.

Elbow Fittings
Barbed elbow fittings provide omni-directional attachment of the incoming tubing to the air bearing.

Balls
Stainless steel balls interface with the spherical seat of the air bearing allowing for optimal parallelism between the mating surfaces. They are a cost effective method of applying a load to the air bearing.

Linear Shafting
An accurate guide surface is important for any air bearing. For the LCA series Cylindrical Bushing Air Bearings, these case hardened shafts are an ideal complement. They are precision ground to .000050” roundness and have a surface roughness better than 8 microinch Ra.

Pedestals
The SRA series Spherical Air Bearings may use these pedestals as a support structure. They are made from welded steel and feature mounting and fitting holes which interface properly with the intended air bearing. Custom heights and support hardware are available; contact us for more information.
